Bad Ghosting, G-Sync bad flicker
Ghosting is very bad on the XC27HD-S. No matter what settings I try, it's impossible to reduce ghosting. Use this to test (https://www.testufo.com/ghosting). For a high refresh rate + high response time advertised monitor, it's quite bad and strains the eyes in fast gaming.
The screen flickers very badly when G-Sync is enabled, and I have to disable G-Sync to use the monitor at all. GPU is RTX 2060 OC.
There are some AHVA glow at the corners from certain angles, but it's acceptable as it's only small areas and from certain angles.
My old 60 hz LCD monitor doesn't even have any of these issues. As you can see, from the picture, they are run side by side for comparison.
I really wish to return the monitor if possible. Tech support was unable to recommend settings during a call, and said Ghosting/Shadows are normal for AHVA monitors. Might be true, but this is bad. Would even appreciate if anyone could advise on the settings to reduce ghosting. Drop me an email at email@example.com .
On the plus side, on Display Port, 1920x1080 @ 165 hz is easy to achieve. Colours are a little dull on default, but the settings can be changed to get a pretty good spectrum.
I wouldn't recommend this monitor for gaming, but I guess it's fine for work and good for watching movies.
The free gift speaker is easy to use, simple and functional.
